Hi there,
I have recently purchased my first Suzuki! Its a 1988 Sierra 1.3L Soft top. Ive owned it for 2 weeks are had ups and downs with her already!
To start off the test drive, when i first drove the car it was gale force winds and the rain was hammering it down too much for the wipers to cope with, the gear selection was all over the place, anyway long story short I got out of the car with a silly grin on my face and knew it was the one for me!
Anyway the first weekend it was time for a well overdue service! All went well every oil changed all the filters changed, plugs and leads etc. Anyway I popped off to Repco for more supplies to come back to gear oil everywhere.
It turns out the previous owner had drained the gearbox before he sold it to me

After a lot of swearing (it wasn't hard I was just annoyed) I managed to get the gearbox out and the diagnosis was that the counter shaft punched a hole through the gearbox it was in a bad way to say the least.
The next day I managed to source a gearbox for $80 sweet! A week later (Saturday) I fitted it, Sunday I played in the dunes for the first time!
All in all I still love my Zook!
I also have a tech problem while Im here writing my Suzuki biography, the car is running very rich, very very rich! I'm thinking of replacing all of the vacuum hoses, is this the right place to start?
Cheers
Ash
