Morning all, I'm thinking about purchasing a 06 jimny jlx, has nudge bar tow bar and spotties done 110ks, what would you expect to pay for this in your opinion and what would be required to bang on 235/75/15's straight up as I have set a ready to rock on rims at home, any advice from anyone with one on any problems or specific things I should look for when looking at it would be great and good mods for wheeling, not extreme stuff just your usual and sand driving like you would encounter at York's or Robe etc for you fellow South Ozzers.

a stock jim would do robe with some smart driving no problem.

I haven't really had any problems with my jimny since I bought it 2 years ago (05 jx). common things are just sensors that occasionly fail. 235's won't fit unless u have some sort of lift. Guy even tho u think Jimnys are gay u have to admit that u have been impressed on what mine can do some times when we have been out wheeling.

yeah I was pretty positive I'd have to lift it, was sure on that, 50mm lift should do.it hey? Will 235's throw out the gearing and economy too much though, are 235's the limit for a Jimny you think?

jimny gearing has been covered a billion times over, monley would be the one to search for answers on jimny gearing options & opinions.

Yes 235's are ok on stock but gearing would be good to help turn them and slow the car down in low range but for now I have just added more power by putting in a m18a and now I can't tell I have the 235's apart from when doing really slow 4wding.

I bought an auto 06 jlx 2 years ago with 140k on the clock for under 9k. It had service books but was neglected for the year the previous owner had before me.

You will need lift for 235's. When inspecting check the swivel hubs for leaks, wheel bearings, king pin play etc. mine had a bit of play in the rear diff and was full of shitty oil water mix when I changed the oils at home.

I'm also now running an M18A with TD 3" lift, 235's and auto and it's awesome. It now has 162k on the clock and the auto's sweet, grabs the gears fine with no slip. With the auto ratio it's great to drive and doesn't affect gearing too bad. My only complaint is the Jim's decision to wander whilst driving with the change in lift, wheels, geometry etc. I'm working on that.

Docka get some jimny bits extended front radius arms. I have them in mine with the same lift and it makes it nicer to drive. I think they were worth the money for makeing the car more stable to drive.

I put 235s on mine with no problem with only 40mm lift, gearing is average....could be worse, and watch out for the steering wobbles

235s fit with no lift if you don't mind chopping the front bumper.

Are you using caster corrected bushes docka? If so ditchem and get the in radius arms, fixes the wandering.
