What gasket are you using? Normally the torque and sequence is printed on the packaging

Yer just a normal one mate. Bought a full vrs kit but it doesn't have any info on the torque settings.

I did mine a few weeks ago, might still have the specs in the shed. Will have a look shortly

I can't find the gaskit instructions but had a look in my factory manual.

Head bolts are 47 to 50.5 flb. Torqued up in 3 stages so 20 then 35 then 50flb. Centre 2 bolts first then alternate bolts either side of the first two and finishing with the outside bolts last. Tighten all bolts before cranking the torque wrench up to the next step

Hope this makes sense, my GTI motor has had a head stud conversion so I did 4 steps and finished up at 70 flb.
