Hi does anyone know where to get procomp shock bushes from in Australia, or ones that will fit? Jimnybits is out of stock. Also has anyone had them wear out quickly, mine are only a year old and have about 5mm play up and down and I only do normal driving with a bit of off road.

Did you fit the crush tubes? May sound silly but the company who fitted my gear didn't put any of the crush tubes in

poly or rubber?
I got a spare poly set in my shed from JB, not sure I want to part with them considering what you just said re: 1 year wear.
PITA i know, but try taking one out and taking it to pedders or fulcrum or something to see if they have something that will fit in. Im sure they'll have something. Maybe check super-pro bushes site, they shouldnt be too far from stock anyway.

You can get poly shock bushes?
When I put the crush tubes in I thought the procomp bushes were soft compared to the toughdog ones that I had, I tried swapping them but I didn't have the eight gear to do it nor the patience.

according to the JB page http://www.jimnybits.co.uk/shop/jimny/s ... rod_7.htmlat the bottom says "also fits pro-comp" That to me implies that the stock jimny bushes are the same as procomp... so theres a good starting point, just look for some poly bushes to fit stock (or rubber, whatever shakes ya tree)

Can't say I ever noticed them before, probably the better option to go for. When I get new shocks I might give them a go.

Yeah thats why I bought them when I got my shocks from JB's I knew the rubber would go eventually, so wanted a spare set on hand. might loose a bit of flex being poly, but I can live with that.

Yeah I had to read it twice actually too.
Was thinking last night, Martin is usually pretty quick getting fresh stock in. Have you sent him an email to see where he's at with getting more in? EDIT: thats Martin from JimnyBits btw.

Just went down to Bursons, they said on phone ( like everyone else) that they have no listing for Jimny shock bushes. Went in there showed them what I needed and they have them ( close enough to fit) on the shelf $6 each. With most auto shops if it is not in their computer it does not exist.

Winner winner chicken dinner!
I managed to rip Bursons off with my trailing arm bushes, told me on the phone 90 bucks for all 6. Went in and wanted 200 or something.... told em to eat a dick, you said 90... walked out with them for 80 for my trouble. was pretty chuffed.
What model were they SUPPOSED to be from? for potential future bush-hunters

Sorry got them home and dont quite fit a bit too big to fit in. Spewing, back to square one. I think I might email JB and see how long. Repco were the only ones that said they had a listing but it was only for the front top and pedders just said that I had to buy new shocks.

I bought some from ARB for my Procomp shock. they were bigger and were hard to get in. ARB had them listed for a Jimny.

AHHAAHAAH Pedders... Gold.... new shocks they say....
yeah i better buy a new car, my ashtray is full!
wankers.
How did you try to get them in gman? using a vice etc? or have you got a press? did you grease them up good? You may need to take them to a place to see if they can press them for you. I assume they are poly if you are having grief.

could always chamfer the edge slightly on the section that needs to push into the shock eye & as scales said, lube up... no one likes going in dry.

No they were wrong size, I dont know what i did when mesureing them but got it wrong. Rang ARB next he said they only had a listing for the front top. emailed JB and they said they will have some new ones in a week or so. I think I will just wait and get theirs. You said Pedders are Wankers, Agree. When I was in there the other day the guy in front of me was inquireing about his Triton saging when towing a big boat, the guy behind the counter quoted him $1200 for new rear leaves and $1100 for airbags. I had to control myself not to burst out laughing.

yeah they are deadset idiots. catering for moreons who dont know any different.
actually had a win with them once, before I had a press I needed poly bushes pressed into the JB arms. they only charged me 5 bucks per bush to do it, everyone else in TSV wanted an hours labour. was happy to pay 30 bucks for it.
most of their shit is just painted monroe shocks anyway, theres so many bad stories about them on the net I would only ever use them for their free safety check if you wanted to see what was wrong with your car.... then go elsewhere!
