The chassis for the 'goofy front' is vastly different AND weaker than earlier models. For any manufacturer to make a mount would require some time and cost. Don't forget, this model is NOT available in all states.

well i spoke with WA bullbars. They arent interested in doing one up as they said the cost of testing is to high and would need to sell a 100 to make it worthwhile so unless we organise a HUGE group buy i think we are out of luck getting one of the smaller companies to make one up.

yeh, remember that 4wd scene is a niche market, with most of the ppl buying toyotas or nissans, so the amount of ppl with jimnys that want a bullbar for a manufacters point of view is pretty much nothing. Also taking into account that we zooks tend to be tigh arses for money ahha :P

there are 4wds..... the amount fo them that get modify are few.....out of those there are a few jimnys..... and out of those jimnys, theres the new (different) model of jimny..... so pretty much the 4-5 guys in this forum

the new jimny is still too new. You guys might have to wait a few years till there are few around so they would start building a bar for it

I think its all a toyota conspiracy. they probably pay off arb and tjm to only develop toyata stuff in a timely fashion so that we all get frustrated and buy toyotas.but ill be damned if i pay 50-60k for a hilux, 60-80k for a prado or 80-110k for a 200 series and then still have to ask a jimny for a tow

dunno much about the jimny bars but lightforce is shit unless you use them for shooting.
it's a spotlight made for shooting and all they did is add some covers that don't work!
i've had them all, clear, blue, combo,spread,dispersion... all sales crap and nice pics in their adds. had my hella rallye 4000 for years and no other light can beat them when it comes to drivinglights and light up everything within 300 meters where it all happens.
lightforce shine a long way but who gives a shit seeing a roo at 1 km away? impacts happen within 300 meters in front and thats where you want most of your output!
as a spotlight ?, yes, lightforce go the distance, but the hella's? they do both, great distance and superb spread!
that's just my 2 cents anyway.

ummm - too new? too few? Do you have any idea how many SQ series GVs were built between 98 & 05 - I'll take a bet there are/were more sold than Jimnys. They've been discontinued for seven years now and there is still precious little available - I like the JML bar (sorry bumper) but haven't yet figured out how to get one from Australia to here.

yeah, too new... talking about the NEW JIMNY... the one with the new face lift, witch prob would be the Mark IV jimny.... talking in australian standars here, I know that jimny has been around for a time now in diesel mode overseas, but not in AUS where we are talking about the lack of manufacters committed to make a bar for it.

yes those GV are lots of them, but as u say, they have been around 15-8 years by now, so more than enough time so ppl start trowing them into ruts, mud, rocks, ect, so they need a bullbar... and still remember out of those 123948721938459283548X sold, only a small % are customize into 4wds sence.... yes, the modify GV might look like a lot, but when u compare it againts the number of total GV made the % is nothing, also when u compare it against the number of hilux, landcruisers, and patrools is still nothing, so for a manufacters point of view is a risk..... In my country (vzla)), u can go to a second car sale website and have a look... out of 150 GV's only 1 gets a few modifications.... against a toyota page where out of 100 only 1 doesnt get modify... for example.......now do the same in carsales.com.au and see how many Gvs have a bar tyres and lift

plus remember I was talking about jimnys, in witch the NEW model in AUS only have a few months out in the market, so only an XX amount of ppl in AUS are spending money to modify it, out of those only a % are ready to spend $$ into a bar.... so, waith a few months, years till the demand is big enough to compensate for the R&D and production of bars

The LJ50 has been out of production since 1980. Does this stop us from modding them?
Modding cars is NOT about buying everything you possibly can from the shelves of suppliers, and whinging when no one wants to make something for you.

Use some inginuity, design something. find a mate who can weld, cut up some bits of steel and have a go.

make some calls, send some emails, do some research.

i have managed HD axles into a car that they were never designed for. Chromo CVs into a car they were never designed for.
Airlockers into a car they were never designed for. Crawler gears, roll cage, harnesses, barwork, powersteering.

this doesnt apply to only older cars either. Twin airlockers for the GV aparently werent able to be done, before Bruce and around the same time "Gear" figured out how to do it.

Its not about how big your budget is either, ive done all of this on my LJ and it owes me less than $6000 including original purchase price. Its about using your brain, imagining how something can be done, and doing it.

the guys that make xrox have made two styles of bar now for the new jimny. the xrox tube bar and then a more conventional bar that covers the headlights aswell. just got an email from opposite lock about it with pics of both but dont know how to load pics from my phone. xrox is $1175 i think and $1370 i think for the conventional styled one.

You can view pics on eBay of both bull bars, search 2013 jimny bull bar or similar.

The main reason for arb not making a bullbar as yet for this model, is that their r&d department is in Victoria, the only state in which the jimny can't legally be sold brand new(for now.. The law affecting this is going nation wide half way thru this year or next, I can't remember)

I did however go into arb to double check with them yesterday, and was told that they're looking at buying one in Queensland, and shipping it down for R&D. So a bull bar may only be a few months away, or 6+ away, they wouldn't give me an eta at all.

I'm going to wait another couple months, and if the arb bar still isn't available, ill probably buy one of the xrox ones, but I don't like either of the xrox ones.

I can confirm this, this is pretty much what ARB said when I called them yesterday as well.

I didn't hear about the Queensland part though, but either way it's going to be at least 6 months away before they even have a prototype bar to fit, with production a few months after that, so I wouldn't be holding my breath.

They wouldn't give me any eta at all, typical darwin tho, not today, not tomorrow, not this train, not the next, etc..

Go speak to Dallas at Hedland Offroad in wedgefield, he quoted me $1250 for the xrox bar and extra $350 to fit it, good bloke he did my tough dog lift, he reckons the xrox bar is in the process of getting made for the newer version, not sure if the 2012 and 2013 are the same?

late 2012 and 2013 are the same. outback accessories(make XROX) have a model available now for the jimny. they have two actually. the tube style xrox and then also a more conventional type that looks to offer more protection. what TD lift have you got?
