Rhino rack and basket
No factory rails fitted had to buy Rhino rails and secure to roof to enable roof racks to be mounted.
Cost for the lot around $450-$550 can't remember exactly
Can definitely feel the wind catch it over 80kph even empty, increase fuel consumption, I also have 6 narva 150 spotties on it 4 front 2 rear and had to fabricate mounts and weld to basket to fit them. I love it extra storage for light gear eg sleeping bags, pillows, etc etc I also have waterproof bag the size of basket to keep dust, water off my gear when camping.
Would I do it again????
I wouldn't own a 4x4 without one!
Just put a full size rack on my pajero as well!!
Oh forgot carry capacity! I have had 85kg storage racks for my garage on them, short trip about 20km and apart from the massively top heavy body roll round corners and car handling like jelly on a plate they took it just fine although I think only rated to around 40kg??

1) Windcheater from South Africa though OL
2) Bolts directly to roof
3) Load capacity is same as recommended for the roof by Suzuki so 30kg although capable of much more
4) Large bulky items such as swag, campinmg chairs and long items that won't fit inside
5) Did not get much change out os $1,000

Bolts on to roof rail mounts plus an extra hole needs to be drilled

that is a really nice touring setup!!!
whered you get that tent/awning from? ive been looking at awnings but cant get both for 300!

Also, those roof racks dont look like the track mount option OR the ones that attach to the stock rails.... are they clip-ons?

Got both from TJM, they had a deal going late last year, buy the tent for $1499, get the awning for free.

I broke the stock ones... so had the TJM guys make custom mounts, they look almost identical to the ones from Windcheater that Mike57 has.

Nah, it works really well. Uses a little more fuel, but I think the quick setup and comfort is worth it, also it frees up quite a bit of space in the car.

the rooftop tent looks great i had on one on my forester and loved it, now have to fingure out how to mount in on the jimny. cant decide whether to just use roof racks again or try and get a roof basket setup, so that way i have even more storage space up-top for those long trips.
has anyone mounted a rooftop tent on basket on a jimny? would love to see pic
