Actually, perhaps that is something new (or only on older Jimnys). Is the seal the same size as that ring, or is it bigger, and hence sit further out.

What year is yours?

Thanks mate, Im stumped with this one. The thing with the holes in it is the seal protector. I'm just not sure if the seal is still there or not. Haha

Mine is a 2001 model, I think the seal is bigger. I will have to double check tonight.

So it turns out the seal was still there, so I got that out carefully with a cold chisel and replaced it. I greased up the spline and bearing and bolted it all back together....

Now I'm stuck.

Anyone know how to assemble drum brakes :/ lol

Yea, found a diy on how to change drum shoes that may help. Ill give it a crack tommorow.
