So recently i got around to replacing my my MAF sensor as the check engine light had been on for about 6 months (error code 34). All was going well for about 2 days when the check engine light came on again. This time when i checked the codes i got error code 31 which is the MAP sensor. My book says "check for bare wire or damaged connectors. check the vacuum hose connection." So my questions are: 1. Is the MAP sensor issue related to my Previous MAF sensor problems? 2. where a bouts is my MAP sensor located? (Suzuki Vitara jlx 1996 g16b) and how do i check the vacuum hose connection? 3. What does my MAP sensor do? 4. What problems will i have from not having a functioning MAP sensor? ( can i just ignore the problem?)

I am having trouble finding information about the MAP sesnor. from what i have read cars are supposed to have a MAF or a MAP sesnor not both.. please help im so lost

8V engines have a MAP, 16V engines have a VAF or MAF. Its generally only on OBD2 vehicles and some earlier California vehicles where you might have a MAP and a MAF
