Hey Guys,

I was about to sell this car and this issue popped up. Here I'll try describe it in detail.

When I turn the transfercase dial from any position to 4H (unlocked) the dash digital screen keeps showing 4L (unlocked).
If I go back to N i can select 4L locked and even 4H locked, so in theory off-road functionality works fine.

There are 4 modes on the control knob as you have gathered, plus the Neutral position.

Is this a switch issue or something else?
Hope to hear your suggestions.

This light only comes up intermittently , about once every 15 seconds. Also included a picture of the gear selector.

If its anything like the earlier GV then the front is air actuated and it flashes when its not holding pressure. Not sure if thats how it is for post 05 models though.

Nope its constant 4wd.

I had this issue with the wifes GV.

Foot on brake, Clutch in, gearbox in Neutral switch transfer from 4low into 4high. Let transfer do its thing. the 4wd light will not go out until it has finished disconnecting. Sometimes you need to drive a short distance for the light to go out.

The problem is mine comes on as I have been driving for some time. Having taken it for a test drive again on loose surface, I can confirm that 4WD locked is working in all positions. 4H is also working perfectly on the road. The problem is it's just trrowing up the light that says 4L Locked every time I accelerate.

A $12000 OBDC scanner didn't pick up anything last night. Maybe it's time I go to Suzuki and pay $$$ ?

Coming on when accelerating suggests a loose wire, connection or similar.
Check, clean and tighten them.

Got me stump'd then. Try calling them first before booking the GV in.

okay, so the Tech looked at it, and the MAP sensor needed cleaning and tightening as I understood from the feedback.

After getting the car back took it for a drive (500 meters) and something else something new showed up. Stopped the vehicle attempted to test every mode possible but the car was stuck in N (neutral). The car broke down completely and I came home with a courtesy car.

Are there separate controllers from the ECU that control the 4x4 system?

I have asked in my previous post just above if the ECU and the 4x4 system is a separate controller. It appears that it is, because I've just been advised that it's the faulty part causing the issue.

It's a bummer that this fault came up days before I wanted to sell the car.
Lucky person who ever buys this car, it really will be in top notch condition both electrically/mechanically.

Is Redbook anything to go by? What kind of money should I be aiming at asking for a 2007 GV 2.7L that is manual and has done 108,000kms ?
