How long do peoples oil pressure lights stay on for? Done a jimny conversion and my light has been on for around 4 to 8 seconds on startup after sitting overnight ever since we done the conversion. Brand new refurbished motor with new everything and primed the oil pump before first start

No flickering lights when driving. Only on the first startup after sitting, tried to get a gauge on it but we had the wrong fittings

Yea! Pretty sure the block is a g16a as stamped. But the engine number on the side has g16b in it

What filter are you using? Some filters have a drain back valve, some don't - one without allows the oil in the filter to drain back when the engine is off, and that means the pump has to fill the filter before the oil gets to the galleys.

Yea i went from a 418 or something around that to a 175? Cant remember the exact numbers but now using the smaller 175? Ryco g16 recommended filters for vitara. Drain back valves in all of them

My bro did weld the sump pickup with tig, pressure welder by trade, i have had a feeling it could have a pinhole allowing oil to drain back from the pickup pipe.
