Good to see youve resigned yoyrself to chassis mount. But a difrent take
Ute chop the jim, rear mount radiator and ac condenser, forward mount the winch? Smaller cab means better ac and more space in the tray for muddy straps and bits?

Always loved the look of a tube back end on a zook, and I may go that way one day however, at this stage I still like taking the kids out in the Jim (although not down any tracks that need winching). I have seen some really well done ute chops, there is even a commercial kit available that I have seen somewhere.

I could look at remounting the ac condenser somewhere else, but it still leaves me with a similar approach angle only a small difference.

Mainly was just looking to try something a little different with it and a bit of fun for a project plus if successful it would be very functional way of being able to winch both directions but it will come down to if all the extra bracing will outweigh just putting another winch on the rear as I want to try keep the rig light.

I will see what I can find regarding moving the front axle forward as suggested by Josh in that case I would probably be happier with the front mount set up and a smaller winch on the rear.

by using synethic rope the weight of a winch is greatly reduced but this will not fix the approach issue. Puching the front diff forward is really the only answer to that. Buy a smaller rock crawling winch with dyneema rope for the rear as you seldom need to winch back that far.
