hey guys got a funny noise

its coming from the rear right wheel or hub area its a kind of rubbing squeeking noise when i accelerate

any ideas?

oh and its not a constant noice its its like its going in time witht eh wheel rotations if you get what i mean

and no its not a rock or something in the tyre its more of a metal squeeking noise

drum brake shoes?

not sure what that is

my mechanic mate and i, well him really, are doing all 4 shocks and front wheel bearings might just have a look while we are at it this weekend

wat you mean? You dont know what brake shoes are?

Simple to check, loosen all nuts, including the 4 middle ones on the axle, jack up rhs wheel, take wheel off and the 4 axle nuts off. Tap drum with a hammer and it eventually come loose enough so u can pull it off. Then you will find the brake shoes.

Then possibly, if you love mud too much, you will be on bare metal braking! No pad left! (drum brakes are known for this)

Then you will need new brake shoes. If possible. Take them with you to get new ones. Various stores have them but there are few different brand/makes for sierras and the shop normally gets the wrong parts for you!

i went to buy rear brake shoes a couple of weeks back and there where 4 different styles, not including the hand brake shoes.

take a sample and keep the part number. makes life easier in the future.

check your front wheel bearings, mine scratch the disk and give a funny skweel when they are loose as... it gouges allot out of ya disk if you let it go...

yeah my front wheel bearings are rooted and are being replaced but the oise is coming from rear wheel
