Hi guys,
I've just compeleted the creb track today and am campin at Cape Kimberly. At the end of the creb I had realized after stopping to talk to the guy I was with that my rear right bottom shock bolt was missing causing the shock to be hanging down. Had no spare so had to drive to the camp grounds where I could properly sort something out. 2km away from where I realised it had happened I hit a rock and have completely destroyed my shock. To top it off, from day one of owning the Jimny the front springs were insanely sagged.

I am looking at getting the TD 60mm HD lift kit but getting 80mm rear shocks instead. What issues may I encounter doing this? Is castor correction needed for that lift? Will I need extended rear brake lines?

I'd get 60mm springs for the back and 80mm for the front. I'm guessing you have a bullbar and winch from your avatar and the fact the front is sagging. The setup I suggested will keep the car level with the extra weight up front. The ride is going to be harsh off-road unless you are loaded up.

As for castor correction, it won't hurt to have a few degrees. You'll find it noticeably better to drive with it.

Also... The rear shock problem is going to keep happening. You're better off drilling out the thread all the way through and getting a 150?mm bolt to go all the way through with a large washer either side of the rubber bush on the shock.

Or get shock relocator brackets. Stops the bushes from flogging out and the bolt from coming loose. Also don't bother with tough dog shocks. They belong in the bin. There not valved correctly for a jimny

Is castor correction needed for that lift? yes, you could go bushes and get away with it, but with TD springs and bushes with less movement (loss of padding as bolt isnot centre in the bush) you going to limit your front flex compared to stock bushes
