What OBD Reader does everyone use? Got a bluetooth one but it doesn't work on the GV.

Also would the reader tell me if the timing is out?

Buy a X431 Idiag from http://www.x431store.com/wholesale/andr ... scan-tool/

When you receive it and conect it to your phone / tablet you just have to buy the suzuki software around 65$ us

It will act like the full suzuki diag tool and will tell you your timing as well. I have tested it on a 99 GV not as much info as a 2002 but still there is alot of info available.

These Idiags just work, no messing around and you can keep it connected and monitor while driving as well if need.

For a 99 model mate you should have 2 options:
1) Use the SDL cable & windows program from Rhino power,
2) Get the i-Diag Gecko mentions above.

Neither are overly cheap, and neither of them work with Torque (don't expect a pretty GUI like Torque either).
The i-Diag is the better option as it'll have far better compatibility and can work with your phone etc, where the SDL only seems to work with the first few year models of the GV.

The software is downloadable on either android or Apple store then you need the suzuki software which is really just a license and it downloads in the idiag program.

EG if have a suzuki diagnostic tool as the TEch 2 you also need to buy the software to go with it for suzuki. Same with Idiag but at least with the idiag its a once off purchase and get 12months of free updates.

Cheers boys, decided to go the iDiag option.

So basically, I download the app then buy the suzuki option on there and it will give me full diagnostics etc for all suzukis? Sweet!

Yeah there is a website dbscar.com you add the Suzuki software when u log in you will have the option on your phone when click the Suzuki icon under diag it will scan the car and give you available options. Then you can see graphs. Record data, and run tests like timing, rpm control, egr tests etc. You can email results etc too. Has heaps of features. I'm shocked at how cheap there selling them now. Even there stand alone tools.
