This picture was taken from the Jimnybits webpage, the one for coil spring seat correctors for a Grand Vitara - what caught my eye was the position of the sway bar & end links - as stock, the bar sits below the control arms, and is not only exposed, but under significant angular stress as the arms move downwards - anybody tried it in this configuration?

What are your thoughts/experiences?

Surely that is mounted to the chassis in a different spot?

I thought I'd read of people doing that when they've had a large suspension lift done? (Because the end links are prone to breaking with lifts.)

Wonder if it's a sv sway bar, as the gv runs backwards?

That's partly my interest - I don't have a particularly high lift, but the angle of the control arms at full droop puts a significant side loading on the end links - to refit the sway bar I have to put the vehicle on ramps so that I can get enough working room whilst the weight is still on the wheels, and even then, the easiest way is to drop the sway bar mounts off of the frame, hook up the end links and then swing the bar back up and refit the mounts.

I'm beginning to think it is - the cast control arms look similar to a GV, but the steering linkage does not match a GV. The position of the bar (front to back) is also wrong for a GV, it should be behind the CV axles, this appears to be in front.

Looking at it again... no bolt in front crossmember = not a GV
