Measuring up the H27 on the weekend and ive come across a problem.
the H27 engine uses a two piece sump.
the main piece looks like this
Image

on the bottom bolts up a send lower oil pan.

my problem is this.
the chassis rails im using will sit through the middle of where that piece of sum comes out the passenger side of the engine.
it sits 250mm out from the centre line of the sump.

I thought about making up a flat adapter removing the low oil pan and running a scavenge pump, extending the oil pickup and running a hose to a larger oil resivoir.

then I could have the alloy sump cut and welded to remove that pertrusion on the side.

open to idea and criticism, just spit balling at the moment

Wow, that motor is scungy

I think i'd avoid trying to setup a "moist" sump (LS7's use this system, not a true dry sump, but a shallow sump with a reservoir and a scavenge pump) I think it will make you poor and frustrated.

I say get the alloy section cut and shut and make a small custom steel pan.

Cut and shut will be your cheapest option
