Hi guys I'm planning to do a trip (tour) In Summer, probably to SA. Its early days of planning but I was hoping for some suggestions on some off the beaten track places that ppl have enjoyed. We are looking for some quiet bush camping to get stuck into our relaxing and fishing (fresh or beach). Any suggestions would be much appreciated, (few ppl I know have done any real time in S.A 4wding so I am at a loss for good suggestions) Cheers.
If you are coming in from NSW you could go in via Camerons corner and visit the Innamincka area/Coongie lakes (still has water in it)/Dig tree etc (3-4days) and come down the Strzelecki and do Arkaroola(4-6days) Heaps of private property 4wd tracks in the Flinders take your pick. another 3 or 4 days but you would be sick of it by then. Hot in summer though.
If fishing is your thing then head on down to Beachport, Canunda, Robe area. There are days worth of wheeling and fishing there. Some nice bush camps in Canunda and Little Dip and all up the Coorong. Coffin Bay would trump that for shear coastal wilderness but its a bit of a hike across the state.
there is not much in between except for the Border Track and the private parks, Peake, Dorado Downs, Loveday, Saunders Gorge, all inland bush camping but those will cost.

And if you head down to the town of Goolwa on the Fleurieu Peninsula you can get onto Goolwa beach and drive approx 9kms on the sand down to the Murray mouth in the Coorong area, lots of people go to that point as I've heard the fishings great.even head up to Waitpinga beach and fish there.
