The photo is of a plug connector that I have no idea where it belongs. I have just finished replacing the timing chain on my 2001 GV 2.5litre V6 (not a job I would recommend if you gave up swearing and drinking !!)
Anyways, I have managed to put the whole thing back together again and today was meant to be "turn the key day". Then I noticed this small connector that I had tucked out of the way whilst working on the engine, and no matter how hard I look I can't seem to find an obvious home for it ??

The photo is taken with the plug near the master cylinder. The actual plug is in a small bunch of wires, near the rear firewall on the drivers side. One set of wires from that bunch goes to the drivers side ignition coils, the other goes to a plug on EVAP canister purge valve and the other one shown in the picture has me stumped where it goes. Could anyone here with intimate knowledge of this engine please point me in the right direction as it really has me stumped. Thank you for your help so far in this nightmare......

Not the 02 sensor plug is it? About the right location, usually they are clipped in below the intake manifold though so I wouldn't think it would be.

Or the EGR valve plug? Again it would be almost impossible to see as its on the bottom of the rear intake manifold collector pipe.

If it is either of those is it just a matter of reaching and plugging in, or do I have to swear and curse and pull things apart again.

99% sure its the EGR valve - you can see the location of it in this photo (plugged in to the black circle thingy left hand side of the pic). Dont be confused by the 3 similar looking grey plugs hanging loose - they are just the coilpack plugs that have been undone.

It's the light grey plug mate about 2 inches above the passenger side 02 sensor in the photo above (halfway between the 02 sensor and the EGR plug you've already checked). You are running out of plugs to check so fingers crossed that's the one :)

Hi, Eyspy,
Did you find what this plug is? I have a 2.5 refitted with a 2.7 motor, and have the same plug hanging loose. Love to find what it does.....thought maybe it's an unused accessory plug that the japanese are notorious for?
Regards,
Peter.
