Hello all,

This is my first post here so dont hesitate to correct me if I am posting in the wrong section.

I will get right to point. I am currently living on the island of St. Kitts in the carribean. The vehicles here are old, local mechanics are less than desirable, and parts have to take a pilgrimage to get here.
My friend owns a 1998 Suzuki Samurai SJ80-123022. She needs a new clutch wheel and I am having a rather difficult time finding one that will for sure fit this vehicle. Its expensive to ship item here due to high import taxes so I want to make sure I find the correct one before buying. I am unable to find basic information on the vehicle and am looking to you guys for some insight. I'm not gonna lie, the vehicles on this island are driven until they dissolve into a pile of rust. They are lucky to get an oil change. She and I are students here. She bought it from another student who also probably bought from a student who most likely bought it from a local that imported the vehicle. It is a right hand drive with I believe a 5 speed transmission and a 1.3L 4cylinder engine.

I read on another forum that the SJ80 is equivalent to the SJ413. Is there any truth to that? Is there an american model equivalent for this vehicle? I would even be ok with buying an aftermarket clutch wheel that is compatible but not necessarily designed for this vehicle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't quite figured out how to attach pictures yet so here is a link to vehicle in question.

There are a few differences between an SJ80 "Coily" and the earlier sj413/sj50/sj70 "Leafy" but mainly suspension and body differences. The engine and gearbox are the same so any clutch designed to fit those models will fit yours.

This clutch kit from the US ebay will work for you. http://www.ebay.com/itm/A-E-COMPLETE-CLUTCH-KIT-1986-1995-SUZUKI-SAMURAI-SIDECKIK-1-3L-4Cyl-/170861799485?fits=Model%3ASamurai&hash=item27c828283d:m:mpXXlXPaMWfF_f1vCDZNxFQ&vxp=mtr

You guys are awesome! I was worried about changes between 1995 and 1998. I had a feeling it was mostly suspension or body related. Thank you for the links. I will let you guys know how it works out.
