It's due for a service but it's been running rough on start with rpm about600-700 rpm. Once driven for 15 min runs fine.
Now it's throwing an engine light code. Obd2 reader on its way from eBay.
Any thoughts.
It has been driven hard off-road up big sand dunes since last service. ( mates bucks party down south after a lot of beers).

ok so the error code was a P0401 EGR. I've cleared the code. some days it runs and starts fine but then after a drive it revs low.

Has anyone taken off an EGR and cleaned it on a M13 engine? If so thoughts and experience would be great. If not i guess ill post it so others can benefit.

Ok so I removed the egr pipe and the egr valve. The valve looked like it wasn't returning properly, after a bit of wd40 and carby cleaner it cleaned up nice. New gasket back. Replaced all bits runs. Ran great for the first run. Cleared error code with elm 327 wifi reader and some windows software.
So far so good
