Want to replace my 235/60r16 HT with some 225 or 235 70r16 AT's. Doesn't appear to be much choice.

What have people used, what are the results.

$170 for a chinese tyre nobody has heard of, and a 10 ply at that?
Oh, and that would be considered a mud terrain pattern. I'd say that's going to be a poor riding and noisy tyre.

You might aswell go a 225/75r16. Plenty of tyres to be had, its probably down to what you want to pay!
Do you have any lift in yours? If so, a massage of the fire wall seam and lnner mud guard lining at the front if you have no bullbar.

I have 35mm lift, no inner guards or bar and seems rolled.
Looking at $200 a corner maximum.

I have a full set of 5 x Goodyear Wrangler AT/Silent Armor 235/70/R16, with approx 70% tread, on steel GV wheels.

They come with a 2003 SQ625 Auto GV that has :
JML steel winch bar (but no winch fitted),
Cibie Oscar plus driving lights,
Dobinson struts,shocks,springs (approx 40mm lift), plus a spare set of ironman struts,shocks, springs (approx 30mm lift),
recently replaced lower wishbones on front suspension,
recently replaced front axle oil seal and bush to locate driveshaft,
2.5l V6 that currently doesn't go ???
flip down table on rear tailgate,
another full set of 5x standard size road tyres on steel GV wheels.

Anyone USED Kenda KR 29 Klever MT's?

They do a 225/75R16 for around $180ea.

If nothing else they look like they would do a good job.

I had Kenda tyres on a mazda runabout i used to have and they seemed fine.

At that price point you'd be in the vicinity of Kumho KL71 ??

I've just put on a couple of Mud Tyres, 225/75 16 Comforser CF3000, on my 1997 Vitara. They only just rub on the rear on full articulation, not enough for concern, and perform extremely well off road, $155 a corner.

On road behavior is obviously not as good as the 215/65 highway tyres before them, but just as good as the half worn AT tyres I put on in this size to make sure I was happy with clearance and performance.

Well after going for a run on the weekend I've decided to just go with a reasonably priced 225/75/16 AT's. My cheap Goodride HT's (already fitted when I bought it) are doing fine on sand and even up Duck Creek rd in the rain, apart from getting a few small chunks. So I'll wait for them to ware out then get some tougher AT. Unfortunately there is about 8mm of tread to go and I only do about 200k's a week (fortunate for my wallet though).
