Has anyone used a throttle controller with a J20 engine GV3?

My daughter complains about the throttle response of the GV3's drive-by-wire throttle system - it's noticeably "laggy" moving away from a standstill, especially compared to the Xtrail she was driving before, and I've been considering a throttle controller - I'd be interested in hearing your experiences.
