Hi. First post here. I have been given a 1981 Sierra that I am starting to restore. Will be keeping it close to standard. The suspension is shot so due for replacement. All the aftermarket kits seem to be 2" or more lift. I don't want it to look ridiculously high. Is 2" OK or does anyone make aftermarket standard height springs and shockers.

Kings do a stock height spring, but as a manufacturer they don’t get great reviews.

As much as I personally detest the company, I’d say Old Man Emu will be your best option with the closest to stock height and the softest ride.

Got the pricing.
Front: What does a 25kg or a 26 to 75kg Spring mean?
Rear: what does medium load or constant 100kgs mean?

It's all there in the application guide - 0~25 kg is used on a vehicle that has no added weight upto as much as 25kg of added weight at the front end, the 26~75 kg is used when you've added more than 25kg.

Err on the light side. Putting the higher rated springs on a lightly laden car defeats the purpose of going with OME- you end up with lots of lift and a terrible ride and wheel travel.

Started to fit the new suspension this weekend. Had packets of yellow bushes for the springs and hangers. Fitted these then noticed a bag of black bushes the same size. Guess I will have spares. Came to a halt at the U bolts. 6 of them are about 3/4 of a hole too wide to fit the axle bracket. I ordered for a 1981 SJ410 so not sure what went wrong. When I find out I will post here to save someone else getting the wrong parts.

Went to the OME agents today. According to the OME catalogs my sierra has 1984 1300cc brackets holding the axles on therefore needs the SJ413 U bolts. My car was built 9-81 and is nameplated as a SJ40V with a 970cc F10A engine. I am convinced OME has got their parts manuals wrong.
ARB are doing the right thing and swapping the u bolts at no cost, but they are adament i have later model plates on the axles. This can't be as the original ubolts are 74 mm centres and the supplied ome bolts are 81mm centres. To for the 81mm bolts to fit the axles would also need to be larger diameter.

Hi. For future reference the correct OME part number for the 6 U bolts for an 81 Sierra is OME-062.
