Has anyone had any experience with either the SAS kit for vitaras or the Trail Slayer buggy kit for the sierra??

Curious as to how solid the kits are and how people have found them in general.

That price, is that for the SAS kit?? Does it include GST and all the other crap?? Im still trying to pick weather id go the sierra or vitara kit. Either way im looking for a rolling body basically that I can do something with haha.

I suppose the SAS kit is more viable though. Would be road registerable and theirfore able to be entered into stuff like willowglen and toperi. The sierra kit on the otherhand is absolutly insane but with the tube rear im sure the only thing id be able to enter would be Tuff Truck....and im not that keen!

There is no GST for things bought OS, the price is the price.

You will need some toyota axles, but I know you can get some of those.

I can speak for trail tough's quality and performance. I spent 1500+ on one of their kits, a high steer, a power steering conversion and some other stuff.

Their fabrication is top notch, and he doesn't sell anything he wouldn't run. He employs a full time engineer. What he (Brent) does is come up with a idea, take it to his engineer to see if it will work, then goes and builds it. after that will run it on trails and the road to test it out.

As far as vendors that manufacture their own parts, Trail Tough is IMHO the best here in the US for Sierra's. all powder coated, nice clean welds etc.

You can call Trail Tough and get ahold of Brent directly a lot of the time, he will talk your ear off about how his parts and kits work.

Again, local rocks though you can't beat being able to talk to the builder in person peaceout

WRONG!! Any new automotive part over the value of $1000AUD including shipping insurance WILL incur a duty of between 5-15% depending on what customs tariff it incurs, AND a further 10% for GST. This is not avoidable.

You MAY slip through under $1500AUD, but the $3500 for this kit won't!

Correct.

GST applies to the landed price once all duties are paid, for any imported goods with a landed value exceeding AU$1000.

The price isn't the price.

It's the price, + shipping + duty of 5-15% +10% GST at the very end.

you might get away with it for small amounts over $1000. $3500 isn't going to slip past the net.

Also to add to this, you will need money for AQIS clearance/ inspection and customs fees on top of the duty/ gst, OR pay a customs clearance agency to lodge the paperwork for you. Either way, you can add another $1000AUD to you $3500 just to be safe.

I just went through all this with my wheels/ tyres, and was blown away with how many people have their fucken hand out throughout the whole process.

Low range don't put the items true value on the packing slip which allows alot of imports slip through.

Don't they? They always do for me? I know they will try and split the order if possible, and that cuts down on the chance of duty etc....

Hmmm, another thought....would much needed to be done to adapt the kit to suit a RHD?? I emailed TT and they said it can't be but yeah....guess they mean they don't sell a kit to suit a RHD.

my quote is $1300.00 just for freight and 2795 for the kit.
