Never mind tha engine swaps etc. Find or build a super light camper and go for it.
Forget all this speed and overtaking shit, slow down and see more.
Comes to the crunch, even with extra power;- still got a very limited amount of weight and wheel base to control that lump on the rear.

1982 - 85.
Our "family car" was a LJ50 rag top... with a roof (?) rack.
I built a light 5ft x 3'6" camper trailer (no chassis, bent sheet steel only)
We (me 'n' the missus and 3 lil kids) saw much of SA and some of western NSW and Vic with that setup.

With the gear available now, this same setup would be a lot easier and maybe cheaper than it was then.

Did my apprenticeship with a guy that used to take his RM250 everywhere in the back of his Mighty Boy. Some trips he did where over 400km each way.

So anything is possible I guess....

Dont bother with that junk. Get a Carlex easy trailer. Importer is based in Melbourne. Ultra light weight, folds up. For a small motorcycle with all the bits you need its $850. Thats for the 830TA model kitted out for a small motorbike. go for the 846TA if you want to carry a couple or one big bike. but unless they are two small bikes you'll be pushing the 450kg again. Those carlex trailers are so light. Ive got the 850 model but I dont recommend it if you are gonna fold it away because its starting to push the boundaried of what the average joe can lift on his own when folding it up.

Yeah, trailer rego is so cheap, considering we use the things several times a week. Space is most people's issue, I'd own more trailers if I had more room. My mate ran a moto-tote type thing when he lived in a small house/yard in the Palmerston area and had to store his bike trailer elsewhere. Now he's moved to 2.5 acres I notice the KX250 always rolls in on the trailer

My Fold up trailer sits in the back of my garage. Uses up about 500mm by about 1800mm floor space. Its good kit. See loads of them at the ride days at the track.
