Am I right in saying an SC14 with stock bottom pulley on a G16 would be somewhere around 14psi?

This was on the drover when I bought it .1.6 with webber carb.
Needs a tidy up with mounts and air intake. ( I added the heat shield)
awesome on the highway !

Is that a SC12 or SC14? In stock form do they mount sideways like that? I pictured that they'd sit horizontal. Looks pretty slick!

More or less that PSI at the supercharger, depending on RPM.
Given pressure loss from the intercooler, You'd expect closer to 11PSI at the plenum, which is achieveable with a decompressed g16.
However this pretty much on the limit for the safety of the supercharger rotors due to heat.

When I set my sc14 up on my G16 gti i aimed for 8psi at 6500rpm based on a 112mm crank pulley (aftermarket underdrive) and a standard 125mm sc14 pulley.
This runs the supercharger at 2.66% overdrive and allows some leeway if I choose to move the redline to somewhere higher in the rev range.
Rotor rpm is only 6977rpm and boost pressure is under the curve for this supercharge.

what sort of power did you end up with?

where could I find some info on these, like the boost curves and so on?

MNE has real world experience with the SC14 so I'd go with what he's saying but on calcs running an SC14 on a g16 with a 120mm crank pulley shows it at 10psi.

MNE - If you look at the article below it mentions heat failure for the sc12 at 14psi. you'd think the SC14 would be comparable. Though I guess it's got a bigger spinning mass. http://autospeed.com/cms/title_Supercha ... ticle.html

Royce - I spent a fair bit of time looking for details on the SC12/14's. Though theres definitely more on the sc14 there's not a lot of official information on either of them like there is for eatons etc. If I had found one earlier I would have gone the eaton m45 route. Same as on the cooper-s.

Hasn't been on the dyno with the SC yet, only DIY tune with the adaptronic and wideband.
The first set of mounts we made weren't solid enough and allowed flex and belt slippage.

I've got a start on a new set, but too busy enjoying driving the car for a change to get them finished.
Planning to spend some shed time on it around easter when I get some time off work.

There isn't a heap of info around on these chargers, but syd rolla club, toymods, ae86 driving club and performance forums are all worth a search.

Damo is right. I have supercharged four different vehicles over the years, but so far not a Zuke.

The small Kia class cars are only around 600cc, and to supercharge an engine twice the size, they will need to be spun twice as fast as on the original engine.
The result will be a lot of heat, a lot of blower drive noise, and the blower will wear out and die fairly quickly.

If you are on a very tight budget, the Toyota SC12 or SC14 superchargers are larger and a much more ideal size, and have an electric clutch fitted. The only problem with these is the plastic coated rotors are designed to rub inside the case. They work fine, but do tend to wear out fairly quickly if you run them constantly with the clutch engaged.

The Eaton M45 is about the same size and capacity as the Toyota blowers, again an ideal size for a Zuke, and they are built solid and will last forever because the aluminium rotors do not contact the inside of the blower case.

An M45 will probably cost slightly more initially, but by the time you have it mounted on your engine, have sorted out all the blower drive problems, have the intercooler and pipework installed, and the engine properly tuned, you will have forgotten about the original cost of the supercharger.

Doing this is a LOT of work, but well worth it if done properly.

Another Baby B&M is currently on US E-bay. It wouldn't be too difficult to find an Aluminium welder who could adapt the B&M manifold to the 8V or 16V head intake pattern. Despite the Seller's comments these are actually 56 cubic inches/rev, or around 825cc.
