i have a tmax 9000lb winch and it is not working anymore. i have checked the earth, and cleaned up the contacts. checked all wiring from battery to the isolator, and tested the control box. there is power going to the box when i try and get it to wind in / out but nothing happens. I opened up the control box and it was pretty clean except for dust, i was expecting water or mud to be in it.
i am pretty sure that the problem is with the motor. the clutch seems to shift fine from in to out.

any ideas before i pull it apart?

I have not tested the winch motor yet to see if power is getting to it. there is definatly power to the control box, but the winch wont wind in the 15m of cable i have wraped around my bar  It is only a year old and has only had light use, if that makes a difference. How would you by pass the box?
