The wife's 95 LWB Vitara is in need of suspension work. Any recommendations on where to take it for honest advise Brisbane north side? I don't mind paying market value, I just don't want to get ripped off. |

That's a good question! I know it seems dodgy when going over speed bumps - someimes a bit of a thud even at very slow speeds. I'd also like to lift it a little (whilst still keeping it legal and safe). |

ARB Shop at Caboolture, no idea if they are any good but talk to Jason there, he wont stuff you around on a decent lift and set of shocks Suspension places dont seem to understand 4wd's and one notable no bull place once didnt even relise my vit had their own brand camber pins fitted when I left it for a wheel alignment!!!! |

Yep, I'll second that Royce. Jason knows his stuff. Has a really good 4wd and has worked on Vitars's. Company is called Northside 4x4. It's at the Bribie turn off. |

Spoke to Jamie at Northside. He advised the biggest lift I should lokk at is about 30-40mm, as any higher puts too much strain on the drive train. He quoted me $1560 to supply and fit new shocks and coils. Is this on the money? Any idea how much the shocks and coils would cost, and how hard to fit? Finally, anyone around here able to help me to do it myself, and how much beer/cash would be needed for the help?

DIY and save yourself at least $500, or I'm sure steknig can be bought for a few beers. 
2" lifted king springs and KYB or Monroe shocks can be obtained at any of your faviroute car stores, Super dooper cheap, ripco etc. Budget about $1000 You can always go for a body lift and larger tyres, you know, just in case of those larger speedhumps. And x2 don't get Pedders products. I've met Scott Pedder and he's shit too. |

I reckon its hard to go past the ARB stuff in a vit cause you can tailor the springs to suit, plus I am sure I read somewhere that if you use the v6 wagon springs in the front they are the same spring rate but taller so you get more lift, youd need to fit a spacer to the rear (PM Bruce) to level it though. |

& what shock's for the rear?? I have a set of lovell's siting in the cave, may not be long enough tho. |

Yeah rear is a drama cause even the OME's are pretty short (compared to what will fit, not whats stock) which for normal touring and camping would be fine I guess I have some ranchos in mine, dear as and too long requiring bumpstop spacers and the common cheapy comodore shock is longer so probably not the best option in this case |

I wouldn't use Kings on the LWB Vitaras because they only gave me 10mm lift. Dobinsons would be a better choice. To get the exra high I ended up useing spring spacers. |

G'day Ranga I have a LWB vit as well and got a few prices over the weekend as mine has a few issues with ball joints and bushes. The red bull is by far the most expensive so I did some shopping around for parts to do it myself Front struts are the killer and will be either between $500 - $600 Rear shocks will come in under $200 30-40mm lift colis will be between $160 to $200 a pair I looked at Repco and super cheap for the pricing to get an idea Shocks were HD Munro or similar and coils were Kings Springs in both cases The job is relatively easy and straight forward but you might like to think about rubbers and bushes while you are there Pine Rivers Springs on Anzac Ave Kallangur might be worth a look - He deals with Kings and was really helpful on Saturday PM me with your email and I will send you the prices I got I worked for Kings last century so I am biased but they they have a good product if that helps.
