can any one tell me if 1 litre cvs are indeed the same as jimny cvs as ebay suggests? are coily ones the same also?

I know they are all similar diff centre sizing.

(jimny rear centre/rear coily is 1.3 sierra size)

People upgrade the 1.0 cv's to 1.3's also. Possibly the same size?

jimny should be similar, coily is very different.

im thinking of these as an alternative to 1 litre cvs for a disk brake upgrade on a lj 50

Did you find out what the CV's are in that axle you were going to buy?

if you have an early maruti NT they are 1 litre. if its a WT they are 1.3 sierra.

I've used 1litre sierra cv's in my jimny before, the only difference was the circlip grove is on the inner end of the spline on jimny and the outer end on the sierra.
I ran the sierra cv's with no circlip and it was fine.

once I changed my driving style I stopped breaking cv's...... problem solved

yes I guess you would, never tried but my guess is coily free wheeling hubs would bolt straight on (jimny's don't have Free wheeling hubs) and you could use a circlip.

If you use sierra hubs, you will need to machine the hub to fit as there is a ring protruding from the jimny wheel hub which stops the sierra hub from fitting, at the time, I was experimenting with stuff (2004-2005) and bought a sierra front axle complete, tried putting wide track sierra Axles, wheel hubs,brakes etc in. every thing fitted except the axles were to short there was a bit modifying to be done to the brake mounts but just a bit of grinding. so I kept everything from sierra swivel hubs to free wheeling hubs and ran 1 litre sierra cv's on jimny axles and an airlocker it worked a treat.

all this is gone now later down the track bought a rolled Jimny and replaced all the running gear to get it back to standand as I had a cut down hilux axle in the rear, a front end with a smashed cv and cracked axle and was just tired of fixing fixing fixing! (due to driving it too hard in the bush) and I just wanted to get a blueslip for it so i could get to work
