| Post subject: | soft top hardware??!! |
hi guys, I've been watching the forums for a while and I just decided to create an account as a question came to me. I have a removable hardtop zook and I am looking to buy a soft-top. however, soft-top companies say that factory hardware is needed to fit the soft top and I am wondering if someone could tell me what the soft top hardware consist of? and will I be able to exchange both, hardtop and soft-top after installing the necessary hardware? sorry for my grammar as English is my second language. cheers |

It shouldn't be a big problem. A dozen or so small fittings that easily attach and a channel above the windscreen, might already be on. Two channnels on either pillar also. Parts would be easy to find and fittings can be bought new at little cost. Don't worry about your grammar mate, it is just as good as others that have english as a 1st language. |

Never fear Sierra wreckers is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which bits do you need mate? Usually the first part removed to fit a hardtop(F/glass) is the rubber seal and locking strip along the top of the windscreen... Let me know which parts you need and I'll do my best to help you... If Stekky hasn't already bought them. |

I'll take some pics of my zook because I am not sure what I have and what I do not. however, it is not possible now because it is raining lol. So, as soon as the rain stops, i'll remove the hardtop and take the photos then I will know exactly what I need. torq |

Qatar was in the first Transformer movie there will be the bit above the windscreen, 2 bits on the back of the B pillar (the part where your seatbelts attach) the 'bow' that holds the back roof part of the softop up probably best to go to want33's yard with your hardtop off and then you can attach all the bits on Re the swapping tops around, you may need to unbolt bits but its possible, think along the lines of hardtop in winter and soft top in Summer though, not hardtop Monday to Friday, Soft top weekends |

As for swapping the hardtop and soft tops, choppy (member on here) does it, (hard top for winter and soft top for summer as he also has bikini top) (wow he's like the top man, or Mr Top), anyway I'm pretty sure all he needs to do is remove the support bar that eldo mentioned, which is like 4 bolts, hope that helps |

It is way more developed than that. that part in the movie was where we go for 4 wheel driving. these are some pictures of the city. |

EDIT basically exactly the same as torq's pictures. |

Quote " so the front clip/channel on the top of windscreen that the soft top slides into, channles on the B-pillar and support bar (whic yes is four bolts). " can you please post pics of the mentioned parts? because I have not seen them before. And what a nice clean zook you have there mate I have to take off now, and will be back tonight. cheers |

| Post subject: | Re: soft top hardware??!! |
the top of the windscreen will have a channel seen below..
behind(attatched to the rear) of the B pillar, or taxi hoop will be another one either side.. You will also need the rear suppot hoop.. and the hinges this attatches to if you are going to buy a 'stock ST roof'
its probably better to get these three bits first, fit the top up to them, then work out where you will need to attatch the button clips and/or bullet clips for the rear.. |
