hey guys im looking at buying a vitara, the main thing i want in the car is that its fuel injected not carby. i have found numerous vitaras that are nice and what im after, the only issue being that they are carby. I'm just curious if i get a carby version vitara how hard would it be to drop the 16v in? and what would be needed as in mods and parts to do this conversion? all info possible would be great thanks.

it would be an easy conversion but finding a stock EFI one would be even easier... and probably cheaper.

In my experience, waiting a little for the right car is a much better solution than buying the wrong one and making it right...

its the right car and deffinately right gear with the calmini lift, just not the right engine but i may wait and see

I have an 8V Carby Vit, and i think it does very well, i am happy with it, i think it is much underated... i am in no rush to move to EFI...
But i am one of those who is not happy having a computer run and adjust the engine for me, to me its just another expensive thing to go wrong, i would much rather be able to do it myself, call me old fashioned, lol...

But having said that, if i had of bought a Vit with EFI, i may be singing a different tune... but if it played up, i would be wishing for a carby engine... lol...

carbies are underated.. i went back to a carby car as i want simplicity when wheeling and havent looked back since.

weigh it up. what will it cost to do the lift and wheels.?? against the engine.. it looks like a very capable car as is. i wouldnt worry about the engine conversion...

if it was a hard top i would take it in a hearteat

thanks guys just had from wants33's point out to me if you look close to the front bumper its all tapped up :S. also the rear bumper has been hit but something and also the engine has done 270000km's which is alot of km's but going to look at this lwb i found the other week now he finally contacted me

$3000 with a 3in Calmini lift, and 31in muddies, is a very good price...
