just wondereing what you guys think i have f100 rims on my nt but still would like more width thinking of putting 1.25" wheel spacers, do ya's reccon it would be ok or to much for the wheel bearings?

you could use wheel spacers but your best option would be find some WT housings and axles and swap your gears into them

yea that would be good but alot more work and money

well what are spacers worth mate?ones ive seen arent real cheap at all.

i meant to get a photo this arvo for an add in the for sale section for some WT diffs i have lying around. They only have one centre so would be prefect to put your NT centres and lower ratios in.

Not trying to make a sale here mate but WT conversion is a much better idea than spacers and a bit more legal.

yea it would be better but time effort and im in perth so parts hard to find and i already have the spacers only cost 200. im just wondering if the wheel bearings be ok

Post subject:  Re: offset

spacers seem to be a bit tougher on ur bearings

so u will be looking at changing them more often then if u was just wt diff and smaller of set rim

Post subject:  Re: offset

Spacers will also increase your scrub radius, which is already out of whack due to teh larger offset of the F100 rims. This will possibly cause tyre scrub issues that would not be present with WT diffs.

Layto....

Hi all, just digging up an old thread

I have a NT LWB on 31x10.5x15 with 2" BL and 2" sus lift and it scrubs the leafs on full lock.

Is the only real option to fix this is WT diffs?

Is there any other options i could use?

increase stearing stops? Or, run narrower tires. lol.

Not only will the scrubbing stop but you will get fucking awesome flex as the spring spacings are closer together. (I have 2" bl, 2" sus lift with wt diffs on NT spacing).

Well and truely a worth while conversion by all means.

Thanks 5ierra,

I was actually thinking of going 9.5's but wouldn't it just be narrower on the outside of the tyre? meaning it will still scrub on the leafs?

Would increasing the steering stops be difficult to do? are there any off shelf products for that?

Keep your bigger rubber and get rims with bigger offset, I'm running 31's on 15x8 rims with negative 30 offset, 2in springs & 2in shackles. Had to massage the inner guard a bit with my lump hammer, but no rubbing at all now

Thanks Nato,

Is there a way of checking the offset of my rims? all i know is they are king wheels 15x8

Post subject:  Re: offset

Take your wheel off the car and lay it flat on the ground so that the outside of the rim is facing up, lay a straight edge across the centre of the wheel. Now measure between the ground and straight edge, divide it by 2, then measure from ground to mounting edge of rim. If the measurement from ground to mounting edge is the same as the overall measurement divided by 2 then you have 0 offset. If the measurement is less than the overall divided by 2 then it is negative offset by what the difference is eg. overall measurement is 200mm divide by 2 equals 100mm, measurement to mounting edge is 87mm then you have -13 offset. Positive offset is when the mounting edge measurement is more than the overall divided by 2. It is more accurate when you don't have a tyre mounted.
Cheers Matt
