have a mate shake it & check over the front end looking for the noise, it could be loose shackles, rooted shackle bushes, loose u-bolts...

or

someone suck in your engine bay & they're trying to get out?

i dont think it is the shackles cos the tc starts to shake too im thinking could it be the diff or the axles, would they make a knocking nosie ?

i had that and it was the leaver hiting the body...

could be nearly anything though

broken gearbox mount and box hitting firewall?

If it was a gearbox mount you'd expect it in 2WD as well... It's gotta be somewhere in the front drivetrain.

no, there is much more load on the drivetrain in 4wd.

Same as a uni, grab it & give it a good shake, twist & pivot..

if it has noise or play while doing above said, it's probably buggered,

Try greasing it, if the noise/vibration goes away your in the right spot.

Should be greased on a monthly bases anyway, more if you only play in mud & water..
