hey guys

I have just completed a 50mm body lift in my coily and just took it out for a spin. A problem though I was looking to see if anyone else had encountered. The gearbox it appears will not stay in gears 2, 4 and Reverse ( the downwards shift) and has no problem staying in 1, 3 and 5th. It just pops out of gear. I am thinking it may be because the gator (I believe its called, the rubber thing over the gearstick connecting to the body) might be restricting movement. I also have a plastic vinylish flooring installed, which may also be hindering the movement.

Anyways, just looking to see if anyone else had encountered the problem before i try mucking around with things.

Cheers.

cut and shut your gearstick to be further foward, or raise your gearbox.

Trim out the steel ring that retains the rubber boot. If you take 5 - 10mm out of the bottom of the hole in the ring it will allow the boot to flex enough not to push the lever out of gear.

Heaps easier then modding the gear stick.

cheers just cruzin

I have an old fabric boot from my old car lying around somewhere at home, would this work instead of cutting into the bottom of that ring?

I took my inner boot completely out. Fixed the problem for me

Which ever boot you use you still need to trim the ring
