just bought a Wesfil air filter for my new zook. the new filter has much thicker rubber seals than the old filter that was in the zook. because of this it's very hard to close the filter box and as a result the filter box doesn't seal shut. i know Wesfil filters aren't the best quality filters but i would have thought they would fit the same as any other filter.
anyone else had or heard of this problem with other filters?

Just peel the rubber rings off and throw them away and fit the rings off your old filter. No dramas..
Buy a better quality filter next time.

Cheers mate, that's probably what i'll do.
only bought that filter cause it's all they had at the local autoparts and wasn't going to make a 1hr+ round trip just for a filter and my new zook really needed one.

what brand air filters are most commonly used and fit correctly? Ryco? Genuine?

x2 on that one. Repco do a deal with the air, oil filter + semi synthetic oil for around $55. They say the air filter retails for around $30....bargain!

thanks guys, next time i'll get one from Repco.
I tried getting the rubber seals of the old filter as suggested above but they didn't come of in one piece so today i took the filter back to the auto parts store and they're getting me in a Ryco, hopefully this one fits!
