is it posible to pull sump off a coily with the motor still in the car??? any tips here peoples?

yep just remove the front diff and it will come off no problems

both ways r gonna take sopme effort but yere teh front diff would be easier then tring to realign the motor

the whole front diff.. are u fuckign mad??? i am thinking undoing the struts and lifting the car up... dam steering arms!

yeah your idea sounds good you just might be able to manuver it enough to get the sump around the pick up
by the way what happened to the sump that was on it? it was my best one i even painted it

you could jack the front end up as high as possible, then undo all he bolts on the sump, drop it down very carefully sit it as low as possible then with a spanner unto the two hold down bolts, but if that doesn't work your already half way to having the front diff out anyway

a whole more 6 or 7 bolts!!!!

I have swapped the sump in-situ on my coily. It has a two inch suspension lift, which helps. I then took some of the weight off the suspension to lift the engine higher above the diff again. I did this by using a block and tackle on the engine lift points. I can't remember how much clearance I got... but it was plenty to do the job properly

hey bud i had a stock coily i used your idea of just undoing the struts and it worked perfectly just a lill fidgety but its easy done

thanks guys.. i will just attach the engine crain to the front bar
thought that might be the case! thanks all!
removing the front diff is a bit of a pain realy!
