anything can be done with enough coin but to do it and make it last at reasonable boost cost dollars. with regards to turbo or blower what sort of driving do you do? blowers tend to create torquey little cars with the power and torque coming on off idle while the turbos will bring it on a bit higher in the rev range. everyone seams to say go a supercharger for 4wd but if setup right a turbo will be just as good, and probably easier to mount as no need for extra belts and pullys etc. you do have to be aware that a naturally aspirated engine was designed to run that way and by boosting you can start to cause problems and may need to lower the compression and o strengthen internal parts. but with low pressures say 5 or 6 psi stock engine should be fine. also more air or denser air means more fuel so your 8liters per hundred ks may change to 10 liters per hundred or worse. also other things to look at are fueling mods ie bigger fuel pumps and regulators, bigger cc injectors etc. myself and some mates are in the process of researching a turbo setup on a g1.6b but only 5 or 6 psi more going for the cold dense air rather than huge pressures. i suggest hitting up some of the more ricier forums as they love turbos and asking on there about what has been done to the swift engines. |

aww yeah go the turbo mate. so easy 2 do. i just started with a exhuast gasket went to a laser place got them to cut me out a copy of the gasket on some 8mm plate and built my manafold onto that. you will need few things though a new valable presure fuel reg. bigger fuel pump. would not worry with injectors unless you have aftermarket comp as you standard comp you cant change the settings to suit bigger cc injectors. just run low boost. have a look at my build up or oozuks. |

im looking into puttting a turbo on mine. im looking @ the ihi rhf4 turbo (off a 2.8lt disel rodeo. from the maps i been reading it should be good on the 1.3. also your going to need an after market comp or least a piggy back ecu to adjust your timing as they dont have a dizzy. other than that a front mount, rising rate fpr bigger fuel pump plus an intercooler and exhasut is bout all you need. as said above only run about 6psi. my mates dad is a suzuki mechanic and i was talking to him about it, he reckons the only other thing ill need is a decompression plate as they run 10:1 comp ratio. |
