I got a few holes I want sorted to tidy up under the hood, and am wondering how to resolve my screws-in-the-vacuum-line approach of plugging things, have them look a bit neater, and also to 'fix and forget', so to speak.

I got a picture of my engine bay with the newly installed LPG system, and have marked out things I want sorted.

The cirlcles are holes I want to block permanently, and I also want to know how to block the larger holes i'll create by taking off this last pollution hose marked in red:






What suggestions can you offer me? How can I fill over the holes in the plastic air filter box? How to fix holes on the intake manifold, and what sort of plug or filter will the rocker cover require?

the red one should be left in place, not removed. it is for crankcase ventilation, basically its a breather for your engine (just like you have gearbox and diff breathers) it is essential.
if you really dont want it feeding back into the intake then fit a filter onto the engine side of it.

as for the other smaller lines you can buy various sized rubber caps for vacuum line from repco and the likes. cheap, easy and not so dodgy.

The red one must stay how it is, if you make it an open breather you are breaking the only emission rule you have to adhere to

To block off the holes in the manifold, you could use pliers to pull out the steel inserts, then tig weld over the hole, or pull out inserts, tap hole and use some nice grub screws.

For the airbox, remove the two nubs and the steel retainers, then use black sikaflex to glue a neatly cutout black piece of plastic to cover holes.

and if u were to block off the red hose ur engine would be able to breath and then it would just start pushing oil and fuel or gas vapors past the oil seals like the rear main and crank and cam seals then u would be in trouble

Go to supercheap auto or similiar , they have rubber ends for blocking hose barbs off , they come in various sizes and are located on the racks that have the high tensile bolts that spin , Cheers Paul.

You know.. now that i see how much you removed, it may be worth while removing the whole upper part of the carb and stock airbox adaptor and just making a custom airbox adaptor thats not as restrictive that occupies the same space.

You could have it so that it uses the 4 stock carb bolts
