I'm looking for a bit of advice on some gears for my Sierra.
I've been wheelin around on 235x75r15's for far too long with the stock t-case.
My Zook is a daily driver and I also do a fair bit of highway driving. My next big 4wd trip is back to Tassie early next year where I will be for about 8 months. As you all know it is pretty muddy down there - just the way I like it.

So, I'm really looking to get high range back to as stock as possible (without going too low for street use), while getting low range as low as possible. I have bugger-all experience driving other Zooks with different gearing and have even forgotten what mine was like when stock. In fact, I don't even bother with 4H anymore - totally useless.

What's best for mud?

What's best all-round?

Or will an old 1L case be enough?

1 litre will give you a bit better than standard gearing than stock case and stock tires, but like most people I dont think stock low range is low enough for what a sierra can do, maybe it was enough for what Suzuki intended :)

I always 4.16 enough for me with 31's and 2 lockers, I think the limiting factor is high range, you probably dont want to go any lower than the 12% 4.16 gives you or youll be revving too hard on the highway
