G'day, new to here but have purchased a 1998 LWB v6 zook to start modifying. Will get some pics up in due time.

Just wanting to know what km's per tank are people getting on here with the h20a motor in the 4 door wagon LWB zook? The factory says 10.7l/100km which works out to around 616km to a dead dry tank, but i never trust factory fuel consumption claims. A few people i've spoken to said they are lucky to get 400-420 all highway driving and about 350-380 when the city comes around. Just after a consensus on here, as if anyone is gonna know, it'll be you guys and gals

well mate, alot of us will never see the official fuel economy figures cos AT or MT tyres will have a greater rolling resistance increasing fuel usage, as will larger rolling diameter tyres, also throw in the extra weight for bullbars, winches, recovery equipment, fridge etc, and also that most of our cars arent new, worn engines and trans, older sensors (air-flow O2 etc) so mate basically work out what ya getting yourself, i reckon and unless its really crazy probably live with it.

For the record my G16A vit gets about 10L per 100km

If you keep the revs down & try not to stick the boot in it all the time you should be able to get closer to that figure, remember yours is also auto & would chew the juice a bit quicker than the manual.

whats the quoted fuel capacity for the LWB & how much can you fit in it when empty?

I'm sure i read the tank is 66 litres, in the Zook manual, i'll check on that though, or someone else can correct me. Haven't had to fill mine up yet, looks like today will be the day, but i'll let you all know how i go tonight.

Tyre wise i'll be going to either a set of 245/70/16 (29.5") or 255/70/16 (30.1") A/T or chasing a set of 16inch 30" M/T. So i realise tire weight will go up a minimum of 4-5kg per tyre at least over standard. Bull bar wise, i'll be sticking with the ARB nudge it came with with 2 spotties and a Rolla roof mounted rack. Maybe some Aux power and dual battery in due time but other than that it'll be the 2" body lift and 2" suspension lift.

It will be basic upgraded car, good for daily driving but also a capable mild off roader and beach car. As you can see i'll be adding some weight, but it isn't hundreds of kilo's, so i'll be interested to see how it affects fuel economy.

LWB V6 Vitara's have a 70ltr tank

I filled her up last night, it took just under 60 litres and i got 480kms, which is 12.5l/100km. Is this in the ball park of where it should be as a standard Automatic?

i'm thinking i might do a few big service items on it, like new fuel pump fuel filter, get injectors cleaned etc, plus all the usual ones like engine oil, air filter etc, just so i know they are done. The auto is going in for a full flush and new filter in 2 weeks as well, so at least i know that is done properly.

I just did a trip to lake awoonga and back and made 550km from a tank. This is pretty good considering 2+2 suspension and bl and 225/75/16 muds. Getting close to the 600km mark and havent filled up yet so will wait and see how much more i can squeeze out
