Hey guys, Who better to ask than my favourite bunch of tinkerers? I am chasing the diff. ring and pinion from the diesel version Jimny. Have they brought the diesel models into Australia before or are they ways we can get specific parts from Suzuki direct? Mitch. |

I found out some extra info. I wanted the parts so i could change my gear ration from 3,4:1 to 3,9:1. Which the diesel unit has. Turns out it wont be straqight forward swap as the early Jimny has front crowns with 10 bolts and the later models only have 8 so i would have buy the complete diesel 3rd member which will set me out too much for the hassle but will only be a straight swap. Thanks fellas. |

Thanks fellas. fistly your diff is 3.4 to 1? no its not. all jimnys are 4.09 to 1 (aussie spec) regardless of transmission. also, all jimnys had the same front ring gear bolt pattern. it was only some of the jap models that varied due to different gears for engines such as the 660cc. you will not be able to source diesel parts from suzuki australia. |

The Jimny ddis engine is a 1.5litre K9K engine made by Renault. This engine is found in diesel Kangoo vans in australia Jimny Spec: 63kW @3750rpm and 200Nm @1750rpm I have seen specs for this engine in the renault clio putting out 78kw and 240Nm Suzuki do not make a right hand drive version of this Jimny. Sold as LHD in europe only. |

kind of shame... with all the rage that goes with diesels these days you think they would be sucessful... i mean 200nm torque in exchange for less than 7kws... YES Please |
