Is it possible to fit a front NT Diff to the rear of the same vehicle...they look identical.

seeing as it is Narrow track 1.3,
yes it can be made to fit
no its not a straight swap

every component is identical bar the side gears, these are the gears the inside the diff that the axles slide into

Providing we arent talking welded or locker equipped diffs, you can pull the centre apart and swap the gears to the ones to suit either front or rear, its not hard but involves reseting the backlash and bearing preload which is fiddly and a bit hit and miss without the proper tools

note this only works for NT diffs, WT use a 2 pin front diff and 4 pin rear diff (same as NT) and the side gears cant be swapped

Bit of a shame, but it's best to know before trying to make it fit.

So a WT rear diff (if it was 4.11 rather than 3.9) would swap straight into the back of the NT.

yeah you can put NT diff centers in WT housings, and visa versa.

I use to have NT centers in my red zook.

NT 1.3 = 3.9
WT 1.3 = 3.7 these are interchangable in pairs
Maruti WT = 4.11 and will interchange with above (long as its wide track)

1litre NT 4.11 and different to above, not interchangable
LJ stuff can be swapped around with NT 1 litre stuff but its a fiddle
