When i had my old SWB 89 Vit, i towed a 6 x 4 trailer, with sides and ramp, and i packed it to the top with all my belongings, and i had the back of my Vit full of stuff to, and i could sit on 100kph on the freeway for nearly an hour, when i moved last year... and it handled it all very well... so if yours is a mid 90's model, it would have more power and torque than my old carby Vit... so yeah, i reckon it would handle what you want to do, as long as your clutch is in good nick, with ease !

The SWB vit has a book rated tow capacity of 400kg unbraked or braked, doesn't matter either way.

I rang all over checking on this, Suzuki OZ had no idea, but when they checked they said 1,200kg, I asked them to clarify, and told them what the book had written in it, and he said surely its a mistake, so check he did, and yep, 400kg unbraked or braked.

Suzi OZ explained to me that they were never meant to be a tow vehicle, and so Suzi Jap never really rated them.

RAA in South OZ has them Rated as a 1,200kg tow vehicle Braked, 450 unbraked

Can't see the lwb being much diff.

my old shorty fit had a tow bar (Now in Joesph's possession) that had a sticker that said 1000kg's. the only towing that i did with it was towing a 400kg car trailer(empty) to my mates. it was very noticeable when accelerating.

Legal is best.
What you can get away with, is a totally different story, you fuk up towing a 1000kg load, and your are is sore forever.
