Hi im pretty new to the zook seen and only now learning the difference in the the suzuki G engines. Anyhow what my question is. What, if any, is the difference between a sierra g13a 8v head vitara and a g16a 8v head? If my knowledge of engines is correct this will in turn raise the compression or lower the compression depending on my block application. The reason i ask is i have a recently acquired a 92 vitara hardtop and although it has been a well looked after lil rig, it has done some km's and i also have a g13a 8v engine that has also been around. What my thinking is, is rebuild the g16a bottom end and rebuild the g13a head and have a really hi compression engine. Will this work or has someone made this work ?

the G16 head has larger intake ports and intake valves and the fuel pump location mounting is different (need to use a G16 fuel pump on a G16 head)
the exahust valves and ports are the same on both heads
unsure about the combustion chamber sizes for compression ratio thou sorry
pretty sure they run the same cam shaft but i might be corrected

the g16a factory camshaft is slightly more lift/duration (very little and this is according to a cam grinder on a US swift forum)
I think its like 1/2 cc difference in combustion chamber.
i will have to pull the calipers out cause i thought it was bigger exhaust valves and same sized intake... the intake ports are dfinately slightly larger.
(i have a rebuilt g16a head without cam that i got several years ago and never used $60 with the inlet manifold for anyone interested)
As a side note, when I had a stock G16A Vitara, it used to ping its nuts off on anything less than 95 RON fuel.... Increasing the compression isn't exactly gonna help this.
