hey all my brother has an xr6 turbo ute roughly 2006. he has just put lowered springs in it, and was wondering if i could use his old coils for the rear of my 96 swb vitara. free length 410mm long, -wire thickness: 16mm -coil winds: 10.5 -base of coil is 120mm wide and top is 102mm (or otherway round) Stock Suzuki Vitara rear coils (swb) Wire diam: 12mm coil winds: 8 1/2 free height: 310mm coil diam: top - 95, bottom - 105 and the other experimental spring- Stock Nissan 180SX rear coils (im not in possession of these) Wire diam: 11mm Coil winds: 9 1/4 free height: 355mm coil diam: top - 98mm, bottom - 100 if anyone can give me advice on whether this will work that would be good, im thinking that they will be way to stiff as the front of the falcon has the 4.0L engine weighing it down. but i thought i might try my luck. thanks Mitch |

Even if they weren't too stiff (which I think they would be), thats a 4" lifted coil compared to stock which is going to cause enough problem on the rear not to mention it would be nigh on impossible to lift the IFS front the same amount to match. So nah I don't think its worth mucking around with mate. The 180sx coils appear to be a pretty good match for a 2" lift, but unless you can get them for free or stuff all I would just buy some purposely made for the Vits. |
