i agree do it tighter first try not to use silicone! ive used it before and its a bitch to get off!!! and i would maybe do something between the 20 and 30 amp fuse. and as royce said its a temp switch not sender lol

I have coolant leaking from the top hose connection and the clamp are done up reasonably tight with out putting to much pressure on the temp sender, so was wondering what silicon to use to help stop the flow? Cheers |

replace the hose and clamp, and check the housing is not corroded whats the temp sender got to do with a hose? I'm a bit confused |

the temp sender will be a thin wire that runs into the hose with a small bulb in the end it will turn his thermo fans on and off i had one in my honda thats my guess id say pull the hose off clean the head of the radiator if there is anythng dried on it replace the hose and clamp and maybe just some gasket goo or something on the inside to help seal it up. |

Thanks Lukes_89 that’s exactly what I was talking about with the temp sender. I will disconnect all tonight and check for any rust and use the gasket stuff. |

ahhh so you have one of them fan controller things? did you fit the little sleeve under the copper line? if not find a bit of rubber and slip it under it, silicone on hoses is mega crap cause it makes it impossible to get off |

Put the thermo fan in about three weeks ago with the adjustable temp sender. I have used the bit of plastic that came with the temp sender which does the same as the rubber. I have though blown a fuse in the temp sender. A mate told me to put in a bigger fuse instead of a 15amp because when I start the car the fuse receives a lot of initially current and that’s how it fried the last one. Is this correct?? |

its a temp switch not a sender, a sender tells a gauge hot hot something is if you have the bit under it, do the clamp tighter, the clamp will blow before it hurts the pipe I would think 15 amp is a little low for even a single fan and yes when they start up they can draw higher current than when running |

scrap it and give rare spares a call they have one that has a small probe you stick between radiator fins and a small box that you mount in cabin very accurate and can be adjusted in cab. had one on my comodore and worked a treat. |
