Hi all, I am rebuilding my zuk as a rockcrawling toy and want more torque plus a bit of speed of course. So I have decided to go with the supercharged option, as I am on a budget as well, so turbo is out of the question. So I am wondering if anyone has any ideas on what would be best to do and use, and if anyone else has done it before as I am hard pressed trying to find much info or many products with decent trustworthy info. Cheers, Brenton. |

There was a discussion in THIS THREAD on supercharging a 1.3, which will be virtually the same issues as a 1.6 8V. This Thread might also give you some ideas. |

I checked out those threads and they weren't too bad. I gained a bit of knowledge, but not quite enough to go out and make a decent start on it. If anyone else has a bit more info that would be great! |

Forced induction, carby and cheap budget should never be in the same sentence!!!!!!! DON'T WAIST YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!! Buy some crawler gears enstead if you want torque! |

How does crawler gears give you torque. I was always led to believe internal combustion gave you torque. Crawler gears seems to be opposite of speed as he wants, hmmmm |

Forced induction won't give you much in the way of speed either... Acceleration yes, but speed no.... It'll also give you a hand grenade under the bonnet... |

Crawler gears seems to be opposite of speed as he wants, hmmmm Engines create torque. but torque is a measurement of turning force so without gearing it would be like taking of every time in fourth gear in high range. Gearboxes are torque multipliers so by incresing the gearing you can get maximum torque at a lower speed. |

Hmm... a bit to think about there. Thanks for all your comments and advice. I am planning to put crawler gears in as well, as supercharging. So I guess what I was really after is some info on what to use and possibly how to do it most efficiently. |
