Need to trim the headlight buckets on my WT because my 31's are all over them under compression. The normal approach seems to be to take to them with a large hammer like BlueSuzy's below but Layto mentioned in my build thread that you can slice along the bend, slide the two sides over each other and weld them back together. Anyone got pics of it does this way for comparison? Just want to see how it finishes off at each end of the slice when done this way. Knowing my luck I'd end up with a gap left in the guard...

I hammered them because it was a quick fix, Yet i still rub on the hammered part That was a wheel off, sledge hammer job. You can get alot of room up there! If you cut and weld, it could be made neater but for my/your size tyres, i didnt/wouldnt worry..If i was fitting 35's + then i will have to cut and weld..everything. I may have to buy a mig 1st |

Tim - come along on sunday and you can see how mine is done... basically the offending part is cut out and welded shut, but not smooth - instead with a 90 degree bit of plate that goes up the other way... hard to explain. |

Keep bashing. Its amazing how much room you can make. I fit 32's with the diff 1" forward with no rubbing |
