The other day out at the beach my cd player suddenly stoped. I checked fuses but nothing wrong with them. I then saw a loose black wire(guessing earth wire) just sitting randomly down. Also now my interiour dash lights don't work. Just wondering if anyone knows where this earth wire goes to? This is where the wire was connected too. |

try connecting it to a metal section as an earth and seeing if that fixes the issue. sounds like the wiring on a vl commodore! |

Sorry I must have worded it wrong, but the earth wire was connected there, but it has seemed to have fallen out of something. |

Fish around and find it. If not find the one from your stereo and screw it back to where you have shown, this should at least get the stereo working. Good luck |

Okay just had a play with it and have found that the radio has an earth wire coming from it. So maybe its getting power from the cigarette lighter outlet, and that's missing its earth wire. Also have found out that the high beam light on the dash stays consistently until i put it in high beam which it then turns off.... |

youve blown the 4th fuse from teh left on the top row, the dash light fuse dont hook that earth to another wire that seems like an earth, its probably a dash light wire |

sounds like you may have hooked the earth wire of the cd player to a dash lights wire. when dashlights are turned off the wire tests as negative. but when they are turned on they become positive. run the earth from the cd player to a metal part under the dash somewhere. |
