Actually, yes and no on the turbulence inside the ribbed flexible Aluminium pipe... i used to do Air Con work, and the flexible ducting was ribbed, but it was spiral ribbed, and for a reason, it could actually help the air move through the ducting with reduced turbulence and resistance...
So if the ribbed flexible Alum pipe, is spiral ribbed, the better the air can move through it, due to the spiraling air pattern inside... sharp bends in pipes, like a 45 degree bend, would have more resistance and disrupt airflow... a gradual bend with the flexible pipe, would have less turbulence and air resistance... ok thats my 2c worth... lol...
